Hey strangers!

It’s been a few days since I’ve posted, I know. Nothing huge to build a post on so here are some things that have been keeping me busy:

Went to urgent care Monday night from an allergic reaction. No idea what it was, since we were eating at a restaurant where I eat at almost monthly and have eaten at almost monthly for the past 5 years. I’m fine now, finishing up a round of steroids. It was not how I wanted my holiday weekend to end.

My local comic book shop is creating a new section for Young Adult (YA) readers and asked me for my input. That felt great! Of course, I had a ton of ideas. It’s shaping up to be a pretty awesome section.

I’m currently reading Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi. It’s a middle grade book and I’m loving it. I’m about 1/3 into it and so far, I recommend it. I’m going to try to be better at updating my Goodreads account.

I’m actually on top of my professional writing projects and I already have my posts planned for October. I may work on one this weekend and get it out of the way because October tends to be a busy month for us.

And as if it wasn’t already busy enough, I’m going to send out Halloween greeting cards like a weirdo. Not to my full address list of 130 people or whatever who get xmas cards. Maybe about 50 people. Depends on how many cards I have. I used to hand-write my holiday cards but I’ve found the photo cards are just so much easier. But I miss sending the hand-written notes, so, I’m sending Halloween cards. Halloween is my favorite holiday anyway. I’ve joined a Facebook group called Pinup Ghouls for us spooky pin-up types. We’re doing a Secret Sandy Claws for Halloween. I got matched with my person today and I’m excited to start buying gifts for her. We’re using a brilliant website called Elfster, which does all of the hard work of setting up a secret Santa type thing and wish lists etc. It’s amazing. I might seek out another Secret Santa type thing this holiday season. I love sending snail mail, if you don’t already know. I sent out 9 packages today. The guy at the USPS on campus is sweet on me (and we’re Pinoy buddies) and he let me pay media mail prices to mail comic books when I don’t think he’s supposed to. Woo for that Pinoy discount!

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
