March Wizarding World Loot Crate

The most recent Wizarding World of J.K. Rowling Loot Crate was very Hogwarts house-centric. I’m a Slytherin so I got some exciting Slytherin goodies!

Here’s the description of what came in the box:

Sorting Hat pin! It’s small and I appreciate that.

Hogwarts Express lanyard! I currently have no use for one, but it’s good to have on hand.

This is what I’m most excited about! When at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood I would always lament that there were Griffyndor duffel bags but never Slything. My wish has been granted!

A fun Hogwarts 3/4 sleeve ringer shirt!

I never ever wear beanies here in too sunny Los Angeles, but now I own one in case I ever want to.

J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Loot Crate #1

Recently, Coleman surprised me with the first official J.K. Rowling Wizarding World Loot Crate. When it was announced in early October, I was very upset that I didn’t get to order it for myself. Little did I know, Coleman had already ordered it for me. It arrived in mid-November, just in time for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. In fact, it arrived at our doorstep the exact evening we were going to see the film.

Each crate has 5 – 7 items. When the crate is being ordered it will ask your t-shirt size and Hogwarts house affiliation. Below are some photos of what I got in the first box. The owl plushie (Ron Weasley’s Pigwidgeon) is the softest plushie I have ever owned. As you can see, most of the items in this first box were centered around Fantastic Beasts.

The crate ships bi-monthly (each odd numbered month) and is around $40 (or a little less, if you order recurring shipments). Order your own here:

Dressed to the 9 3/4 2016

Sunday was Dressed to the 9 3/4 at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, both in Orlando and in Hollywood. Since this portion of the park just opened this year in the California park, this was the first one. It’s similar to Dapper Day at the Disney parks. The Dressed to the 9 3/4 in California is sponsored by the Los Angeles Dumbledore’s Army, a 21+ Harry Potter meet-up group and the second largest Harry Potter meet-up group in the world. Cole was representing Ravenclaw and I am, of course, a Slytherin. I actually bought this dress (link) from Pinup Girl Clothing specifically to wear as a Slytherin.

There were some really amazing outfits at the park. Search on Instagram and other social media for #dressedtothe934la and #losangelesdumbledoresarmy to see some of them.
